  • Account data, including your name, email address, hashed password and phone number.
  • Customer requests, answers, locations, attachments and contact preferences.
  • Professional profile, service area, qualification, insurance and portfolio information.
  • Messages, quotes, reviews, support requests and dispute information.
  • Credit purchases and payment records. Stripe processes card details; we do not store them.
  • Technical and usage data, including IP address, browser, device and security events.

3. How and why we use data

We use personal data to provide accounts, match customers with professionals, reveal customer contact details to professionals who unlock a lead, process payments, deliver messages and notifications, provide support, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.

We rely on contract performance, legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating a safe marketplace. We rely on consent where required, including for optional marketing.

4. Sharing your data

We share only the data needed with matched platform users and service providers such as Stripe for payments, Brevo for email and SMS, Google for optional sign-in and location services, and DigitalOcean for hosting and storage. We may also disclose data where required by law. We do not sell personal data.

5. Retention

We retain account data while an account is active. After account deletion, personal data is deleted or anonymised within 30 days unless it must be retained for fraud prevention, dispute handling, tax or other legal obligations. Payment and accounting records may be retained for up to seven years.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@trustedmatches.com to exercise a right. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

7. Cookies and tracking

We group cookies and similar storage into three categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for authentication, security and remembering your choices. These are always active.
  • Analytics — help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Only set with your consent.
  • Advertising — used to measure and personalise marketing. Only set with your consent.

Analytics and advertising cookies are disabled until you opt in, and you can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. We protect data with HTTPS, access controls and password hashing, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the platform or law changes. Material changes will be highlighted through the platform or by email where appropriate.
